JSW Mingo Junction orders Lime Injection System from Inteco PTI

JSW Mingo Junction located in Mingo Junction, OH has ordered a lime injection system for their Consteel EAF from Inteco PTI. The entire package consists of engineering, project management, start up and commissioning for the project, two (2) 350 cuft injection vessels, two fully equipped material storage silos as well as necessary equipment to transport the lime from the silos to the furnace.

The installation of PTI’s lime injection system is expected to reduce lime consumption, improve shop cleanliness and increase control over the slag chemistry.

Ternium Planta Puebla orders Swing Door

In September 2018 Inteco PTI received an order from Ternium for the equipment supply, start up and commissioning of a Swing Door technology package for their EAF at the Planta Puebla location.

This specific Swing Door will work combined with a slag door cleaning device and remove the operator completely from the slag door area and the furnace platform.

In addition to this, the Swing Door will help improve foamy slag control by keeping the slag door closed for almost the entire heat. The slag door will only be opened for temperature / steel samples and de-slagging. By keeping the slag door closed, less energy is lost, less carbon is consumed, and more yield is conserved. The equipment is scheduled to be delivered and started up early in 2019.

Final Acceptance received from Wantai Steel

In September 2018 Inteco PTI received the FAC from Zhejiang Wantai Particular Steel Company Limited, located in Zhejiang outside Shanghai, China, for the start up and commissioning of a JetBOx™ Chemical Energy package, along with a Swingdoor. Wantai Steel is has installed two (2) continuously fed Electric Arc Furnaces, which will be independent of each other. Each furnace has three (3) JetBOxes™, three (3) supersonic oxygen injection burners, a four burner valve train, a PLC control cabinet, and an Operator Control Computer.

The performance of the chemical energy system along with the Swing Door was outstanding and was able to achieve all of the process goals for this project. Wantai awarded INTECO PTI will the Final Acceptance Certificate on September 12^th, 2018.

Southern Steel, Malaysia buys Inteco PTI Chemical Energy Package to upgrade their second EAF

Southern Steel in Malaysia has placed the order for a chemical energy package to upgrade their second furnace with JetBoxes^TMand burners from Inteco PTI. This is a follow up order based on a successful installation of Inteco PTI chemical energy equipment on the furnace #1. The delivery of the equipment is planned in December this year directly followed with installation and start up.

Ladle Dryer and Ladle Preheater for Gerdau Midlothian, USA

Gerdau Midlothian, located in Midlothian, Texas, USA, has purchased the second fully custom designed ladle dryer from INTECO PTI. The ladle dryer is designed to allow the ladle carrier to deliver a ladle directly under the preheater, where the ladle lid is vertically lowered onto the ladle for drying.

The air/fuel burner control system is designed to follow the recommended drying profile by the refractory supplier. The user-friendly HMI based control system is provides clear information on the status of the preheat or dry-out cycle.

The aim of this investment was to deliver a fully dried ladle to the melt shop using the least amount of fuel. These demands could be fulfilled in the best way.
